L'apatite désigne un groupe de minéraux phosphatés, comprenant principalement l'hydroxyapatite, la fluorapatite et la chlorapatite, caractérisés par la présence d'importantes quantités d'ions OH⁻, F⁻ et Cl⁻ dans leur structure cristalline. La formule combinée de ces trois principaux composés est Ca₁₀(PO₄)₆(OH,F,Cl)₂, tandis que les formules des mailles élémentaires de chaque minéral sont Ca₁₀(PO₄)₆(OH)₂ pour l'hydroxyapatite, Ca₁₀(PO₄)₆F₂ pour la fluorapatite et Ca₁₀(PO₄)₆Cl₂ pour la chlorapatite.
Le terme « apatite » a été introduit par le géologue allemand Abraham Gottlob Werner en 1786, bien que le minéral précis qu'il a identifié ait été reclassé comme fluorapatite en 1860 par le minéralogiste Karl Friedrich August Rammelsberg. L'apatite est fréquemment confondue avec d'autres minéraux, un phénomène qui se reflète dans son nom, dérivé du grec ἀπατάω (apatáō), signifiant « tromper ».
Le cristal mesure 32,5 mm x 24 mm. La matrice semble être un pseudomorphe d'apatite (la forme du cristal a été conservée).

For all items reported as damaged or broken, we do require the item to be returned to us before a refund can be processed.
Return shipping costs are initially the responsibility of the customer. However, if your claim is approved after review, we will reimburse your reasonable return postage costs.
