ALBIT
Amazonit, oft auch Amazonenstein genannt, ist ein grünes Tektosilikatmineral, das als Varietät des Kalifeldspats Mikroklin klassifiziert wird. Die Formel KAlSi3O8 gibt seine chemische Zusammensetzung an; er ist polymorph mit Orthoklas. Der Amazonas gab dem Mineral seinen Namen, weil dort historisch grüne Steine gefunden wurden, obwohl unsicher ist, ob diese Steine tatsächlich Amazonit waren. Obwohl er seit über drei Jahrtausenden in Schmuck verwendet wird, belegt durch archäologische Entdeckungen im alten Ägypten und Mesopotamien, wurde er in antiken oder mittelalterlichen Quellen nicht dokumentiert. Das Mineral wurde erst im 18. Jahrhundert formell als eigenständig anerkannt.
Albit ist ein Plagioklas-Feldspatmineral, genauer gesagt das Natrium-Endglied der Plagioklas-Mischkristallreihe, das sich durch einen Anorthit-Gehalt von weniger als 10 % auszeichnet. Die chemische Formel für reines Albit ist NaAlSi3O8, und es gehört zur Kategorie der Tektosilikate. Typischerweise erscheint Albit in einer rein weißen Farbe, was sich in seinem Namen widerspiegelt, der vom lateinischen Wort „albus“ abgeleitet ist. Dieses Mineral ist häufig in felsischen Gesteinen zu finden.

For all items reported as damaged or broken, we do require the item to be returned to us before a refund can be processed.
Return shipping costs are initially the responsibility of the customer. However, if your claim is approved after review, we will reimburse your reasonable return postage costs.
