Axinit ist ein Mineral, dessen Farbe von Braun über Violettbraun bis Rotbraun reicht und das zu einer Gruppe gehört, die sich durch schaufelförmige (blättrige) Bildungen auszeichnet. Es besteht aus Calciumaluminiumborosilikat mit der chemischen Formel (Ca,Fe,Mn)3Al2BO3Si4O12OH. Bemerkenswert ist, dass Axinit sowohl pyroelektrische als auch piezoelektrische Eigenschaften aufweist.
Die Axinitgruppe besteht aus den folgenden Varietäten:
Axinit-(Fe), auch als Ferroaxinit bekannt, hat die Formel Ca2Fe2+Al2BOSi4O15(OH) und ist reich an Eisen. Er zeigt Farben wie Nelkenbraun, Braun, Pflaumenblau und Perlweiß.
Axinit-(Mg) oder Magnesioaxinit wird durch die Formel Ca2MgAl2BOSi4O15(OH) repräsentiert und ist reich an Magnesium. Er erscheint in Farbtönen von Hellblau bis Hellviolett sowie Hellbraun bis Hellrosa.
Axinit-(Mn), auch als Manganaxinit bezeichnet, hat die Formel Ca2Mn2+Al2BOSi4O15(OH) und ist reich an Mangan. Er zeigt Farben wie Honiggelb, Nelkenbraun und Braun bis Blau.
Tinzenit mit der Formel (CaFe2+Mn2+)3Al2BOSi4O15(OH) ist ein Eisen-Mangan-Intermediat, das gelb oder bräunlich gelb-grün sein kann.
Zusätzlich wird Axinit gelegentlich als Edelstein verwendet.

For all items reported as damaged or broken, we do require the item to be returned to us before a refund can be processed.
Return shipping costs are initially the responsibility of the customer. However, if your claim is approved after review, we will reimburse your reasonable return postage costs.
