Calcit ist ein Karbonatmineral und die stabilste Form von Calciumcarbonat (CaCO3). Calcit ist weit verbreitet, insbesondere als Hauptbestandteil von Kalkstein. Calcit hat eine Härte von 3 auf der Mohs-Skala, und man bewertet ihn anhand seiner Ritzbarkeit. Große Calcitkristalle werden in optischen Geräten verwendet, während Kalkstein, der hauptsächlich aus Calcit besteht, vielfältige Zwecke erfüllt.
Dieses Exemplar zeigt Pyrit (Eisensulfid) mit attraktiven oberflächlichen Pyritoedern, ähnlich denen, die im Wilmut-Tunnel gefunden wurden. Die Kristalle weisen jedoch eine Bravoit-Beschichtung auf, die dieses Exemplar von dem der anderen Fundstelle unterscheidet.
Bravoit ist ein Sulfidmineral, das einen hohen Anteil an Nickel und Eisen enthält. Obwohl Wissenschaftler Bravoit einst unter einer spezifischen Formel klassifizierten, wird es heute hauptsächlich als nickelreiche Varietät von Pyrit oder als Teil der Vaesit-Cattierit-Reihe angesehen. Dieses Mineral ist bekannt für seine einzigartige, oft gestreifte Färbung, die sehr lebhaft sein kann. Es bildet sich typischerweise in niedrigtemperierten hydrothermalen Gängen und in basischen magmatischen Gesteinen.

If your item arrives damaged, we kindly ask that you provide a short, continuous video showing the specimen from at least six angles. You can simply hold it in your hands and gently rotate it while filming. Please also include a clear view of the package label in the video so we can assist you as quickly as possible.
For all items reported as damaged or broken, we do require the item to be returned to us before a refund can be processed.
Return shipping costs are initially the responsibility of the customer. However, if your claim is approved after review, we will reimburse your reasonable return postage costs.
