Korund ist eine kristalline Variante von Aluminiumoxid (Al2O3), die oft geringe Mengen an Eisen, Titan, Vanadium und Chrom enthält. Dieses Mineral ist wichtig für die Gesteinsbildung und ist von Natur aus transparent, obwohl seine Farbe je nach dem Vorhandensein von Übergangsmetallverunreinigungen in seinem Kristallgitter variieren kann. Korund ist hauptsächlich für seine zwei Edelsteinsorten bekannt: Rubin und Saphir. Rubine zeichnen sich durch ihre rote Farbe aus, die auf Chrom zurückzuführen ist, während Saphire je nach dem beteiligten Übergangsmetall ein Farbspektrum aufweisen können. Eine einzigartige Saphirart, bekannt als Padparadscha, zeichnet sich durch ihre rosa-orange Färbung aus. Der Begriff „Korund“ stammt vom tamilisch-dravidischen Wort kurundam ab, was Rubin-Saphir bedeutet und sich in seiner Sanskrit-Form kuruvinda widerspiegelt.
Unter langwelligem UV-Licht nimmt der Kristall eine rot/orange Farbe an.

If your item arrives damaged, we kindly ask that you provide a short, continuous video showing the specimen from at least six angles. You can simply hold it in your hands and gently rotate it while filming. Please also include a clear view of the package label in the video so we can assist you as quickly as possible.
For all items reported as damaged or broken, we do require the item to be returned to us before a refund can be processed.
Return shipping costs are initially the responsibility of the customer. However, if your claim is approved after review, we will reimburse your reasonable return postage costs.
