Creedite ist ein Mineral, das aus Kalzium, Aluminium, Sulfat und Fluor besteht und durch die Formel Ca3Al2SO4(F,OH)10·2(H2O) dargestellt wird. Dieses Mineral bildet typischerweise prismatische Kristalle, die farblos, weiß oder violett sein können und oft als zarte, nadelförmige Sprays aus feinen Prismen erscheinen. Seine Transluzenz bis Transparenz ist durch Brechungsindizes von nα = 1,461, nβ = 1,478 und nγ = 1,485 gekennzeichnet. Mit einer Mohs-Härte von 3,5 bis 4 und einem spezifischen Gewicht von 2,7 ist es relativ weich und leicht.
Creedite wurde erstmals 1916 im Creede Quadrangle im Mineral County, Colorado, identifiziert und entsteht durch die intensive Oxidation von Erzlagerstätten.
Creedite und Fluorit reagieren stark auf langwelliges UV-Licht (Bilder).
Fluorit, auch als Flussspat bekannt, ist die Mineralvariante von Kalziumfluorid und wird durch die Formel CaF2 dargestellt. Dieses Mineral wird der Halidgruppe zugeordnet und bildet typischerweise eine isometrische kubische Struktur, obwohl auch oktaedrische und andere komplexe isometrische Formen gefunden werden können. Gemäß der Mohs-Skala der Mineralhärte hat Fluorit einen Härtewert von 4, der durch Kratzfestigkeitsvergleiche bestimmt wird.

Return shipping costs are initially the responsibility of the customer. However, if your claim is approved after review, we will reimburse your reasonable return postage costs.
