Eosphorit ist ein wasserhaltiges Manganphosphatmineral, das sich durch seine braune oder gelegentlich rosa Färbung auszeichnet und die chemische Formel MnAl(PO4)(OH)2·H2O besitzt. Dieses Mineral wird als Edelstein geschätzt und kristallisiert im monoklinen System, wobei es typischerweise schlanke prismatische Kristalle bildet, die strahlige oder sphärische Aggregate bilden können. Aufgrund von Zwillingsbildung können diese Kristalle pseudorhomische Formen aufweisen. Eosphorit ist Teil einer Serie mit Childrenit, bei der zweiwertiges Eisen einen Großteil des Mangans in der Kristallstruktur ersetzt, was zu Unterschieden in Eigenschaften wie dem Kristallhabitus und den optischen Merkmalen führt. Es wurde erstmals 1878 in der Branchville Mica Mine in Connecticut identifiziert und sein Name leitet sich vom griechischen Begriff für „morgendämmerungsbringend“ ab, was seine rosa Färbung widerspiegelt. Eosphorit ist weltweit verbreitet, hauptsächlich als sekundäres Mineral in phosphatreichen Granitpegmatiten, oft in Verbindung mit Mineralien wie Rhodochrosit und Turmalin, mit bemerkenswerten Vorkommen, einschließlich attraktiver Kombinationen mit Rosenquarz in Minas Gerais, Brasilien.

For all items reported as damaged or broken, we do require the item to be returned to us before a refund can be processed.
