Hausmannit ist ein seltenes, komplexes, gemischtes Manganoxid, das sowohl zweiwertiges als auch dreiwertiges Mangan enthält. Seine chemische Formel wird als MnIIMnIII2O4 ausgedrückt, die auch zu MnO·Mn2O3 oder Mn3O4 vereinfacht werden kann, ähnlich der Notation, die für Magnetit (Fe3O4), ein Eisenoxid, verwendet wird. Dieses Mineral wird der Spinellgruppe zugeordnet und kristallisiert in einer tetragonalen Struktur. Hausmannit erscheint als braunes bis schwarzes metallisches Mineral mit einer Mohs-Härte von 5,5 und einem spezifischen Gewicht von 4,8.
Dieses Exemplar ist ein Explorer-Exemplar, da es mehrere andere Mineralien wie Quarz, Calcit und Pyrit enthält. Pyrolusit und Psilomelan könnten auf diesem Exemplar vorhanden sein, bedürfen aber einer Bestätigung.

Return shipping costs are initially the responsibility of the customer. However, if your claim is approved after review, we will reimburse your reasonable return postage costs.
