Pyromorphit ist eine Mineralart, die sich durch ihre Zusammensetzung aus Bleichlorophosphat, dargestellt durch die Formel Pb5(PO4)3Cl, auszeichnet und in ausreichenden Mengen als Bleierz abgebaut werden kann. Es bildet typischerweise Kristalle, die eine hexagonale Prismenform aufweisen, oft mit Basisflächen abgeschlossen und gelegentlich mit schmalen hexagonalen Pyramidenflächen versehen. Fassförmige Kristalle sind ebenfalls relativ häufig, neben kugeligen und nierenförmigen Aggregaten. Als Mitglied der Apatit-Mineralgruppe ähnelt Pyromorphit stark Mimetit und Vanadinit, was eine Differenzierung ohne chemische Analyse erschwert. Historisch wurden diese Mineralien zusammenfassend als grünes Bleierz und braunes Bleierz bezeichnet. Das Phosphat wurde erstmals 1784 von M. H. Klaproth chemisch identifiziert, und der Name Pyromorphit wurde 1813 von J. F. L. Hausmann vergeben, abgeleitet von griechischen Begriffen, die „Feuer“ und „Form“ bedeuten und seine Kristallisationseigenschaften nach dem Schmelzen widerspiegeln.

Return shipping costs are initially the responsibility of the customer. However, if your claim is approved after review, we will reimburse your reasonable return postage costs.
