Ein sehr seltenes und älteres Exemplar aus dem Lengenbach-Steinbruch.
Realgar, auch bekannt als Arsenblende, Rubinschwefel oder Arsenrubin, ist ein Mineral, das aus Arsensulfid mit der chemischen Formel α-As4S4 besteht. Dieses weiche und schnittfähige Mineral bildet typischerweise monokline Kristalle oder tritt in körnigen, kompakten oder pulvrigen Formen auf, oft zusammen mit dem verwandten Mineral Auripigment (As2S3). Realgar zeichnet sich durch seinen orangeroten Farbton aus, schmilzt bei 320 °C und brennt mit bläulicher Flamme, wobei Arsen- und Schwefeldämpfe freigesetzt werden. Es hat eine Mohshärte von 1,5 bis 2 und eine Dichte von 3,5, mit einem orangefarbenen Strich. Realgar ist trimorph und existiert in Formen wie Pararealgar und Bonazziit.
