Siderit ist ein Mineral, das aus Eisen(II)-Karbonat (FeCO3) besteht und dessen Name sich vom altgriechischen Begriff σίδηρος (sídēros) ableitet, was „Eisen“ bedeutet. Dieses Mineral ist ein wichtiges Eisenerz, das 48 % Eisen enthält und frei von Schwefel und Phosphor ist. Eisen kann durch Elemente wie Zink, Magnesium und Mangan ersetzt werden, was zur Bildung von Mischkristallreihen wie Siderit-Smithsonit, Siderit-Magnesit und Siderit-Rhodochrosit führt.
Mit einer Mohshärte von 3,75 bis 4,25 und einer spezifischen Dichte von 3,96 weist Siderit einen weißen Strich auf und zeigt entweder einen glasartigen oder perlmuttartigen Glanz. Es wird unterhalb seines Néel-Punktes von −236 °C (4K) antiferromagnetisch, eine Eigenschaft, die bei der Identifizierung hilfreich sein kann.

For all items reported as damaged or broken, we do require the item to be returned to us before a refund can be processed.
Return shipping costs are initially the responsibility of the customer. However, if your claim is approved after review, we will reimburse your reasonable return postage costs.
