Strontianit (SrCO3) dient als entscheidender Rohstoff für die Strontiumextraktion und wird als seltenes Carbonatmineral und eines der wenigen bekannten Strontiumminerale klassifiziert, das zur Aragonitgruppe gehört. Die ideale chemische Formel für Strontianit ist SrCO3 mit einer Molmasse von 147,63 g, obwohl Calcium (Ca) bis zu 27 % der Strontium (Sr)-Kationen ersetzen kann und Barium (Ba) bis zu 3,3 % substituieren kann. 1791 in Strontian, Argyllshire, Schottland entdeckt, wo Strontium im Vorjahr identifiziert wurde, sind Strontianitproben selten. Strontium selbst ist jedoch in der Erdkruste relativ häufig, kommt mit 370 Teilen pro Million nach Gewicht und 87 Teilen pro Million nach Mol vor, wodurch es häufiger ist als Kupfer. Strontium kommt in der Natur niemals in freier Form vor, wobei Coelestin (SrSO4) und Strontianit (SrCO3) die primären Erze sind. Die vorherrschende Methode zur Herstellung von Strontiummetall besteht in der Reduktion von Strontiumoxid mit Aluminium. Strukturell ist Strontianit ein orthorhombisches Mineral, das durch seine rhombische Dipyramidenform gekennzeichnet ist und zur symmetrischsten Klasse dieses Systems gehört, 2/m 2/m 2/m.

For all items reported as damaged or broken, we do require the item to be returned to us before a refund can be processed.
Return shipping costs are initially the responsibility of the customer. However, if your claim is approved after review, we will reimburse your reasonable return postage costs.
