Vanadinit ist ein Phosphatmineral, das innerhalb der Apatitgruppe klassifiziert wird und durch die chemische Formel Pb5(VO4)3Cl gekennzeichnet ist. Es dient als primäre industrielle Quelle für Vanadium und als sekundäre Quelle für Blei. Dieses dichte und spröde Mineral tritt typischerweise als rote hexagonale Kristalle auf und ist relativ selten. Es entsteht durch die Oxidation von Bleierzvorkommen wie Galenit. Ursprünglich 1801 in Mexiko identifiziert, wurde Vanadinit seitdem in verschiedenen Regionen gefunden, darunter Südamerika, Europa, Afrika und Nordamerika.
Baryt, auch bekannt als Schwerspat, ist ein Mineral, das aus Bariumsulfat (BaSO4) besteht. Typischerweise weiß oder farblos erscheinend, dient Baryt als Hauptquelle für Barium. Die Barytgruppe umfasst Baryt, Coelestin (Strontiumsulfat), Anglesit (Bleisulfat) und Anhydrit (Calciumsulfat), wobei Baryt und Coelestin eine feste Lösung bilden, die als (Ba,Sr)SO4 dargestellt wird.
