Variszit ist ein hydratisiertes Aluminiumphosphatmineral, das spezifisch als AlPO4·2H2O dargestellt wird. Dieses Mineral ist relativ selten und wird manchmal mit Türkis verwechselt; Variszit weist jedoch typischerweise einen grüneren Farbton auf, der auf Spuren von dreiwertigem Chrom (Cr3+) zurückzuführen ist.
Geologisch ist Variszit ein Sekundärmineral, das sich durch die direkte Ablagerung von phosphatreichem Wasser, das unter oberflächennahen Bedingungen mit aluminiumreichen Gesteinen reagiert, bildet. Es findet sich als feinkörnige Aggregate in Knollen, als Hohlraumfüllungen und als Krusten. Zusätzlich weist Variszit oft weiße Adern von Crandallit auf, einem Calcium-Aluminiumphosphatmineral.
Crandallit ist ein Mineral, das aus Kalzium, Aluminium und basischem Phosphat besteht, mit der chemischen Formel CaAl3(PO4)2(OH)5·H2O. Es ist zu Ehren von Milan L. Crandall Jr., einem Mitarbeiter des Knight Syndicate, benannt. Dieses Mineral kommt typischerweise in Lateritformationen und als Ergebnis der Alteration von phosphatreichen Pegmatiten vor.

For all items reported as damaged or broken, we do require the item to be returned to us before a refund can be processed.
Return shipping costs are initially the responsibility of the customer. However, if your claim is approved after review, we will reimburse your reasonable return postage costs.
