La saléite est un minéral secondaire présent dans les zones oxydées des gisements d'ura ou sous forme de particules disséminées dans les grès riches en carnotite. Sa composition chimique est représentée par la formule Mg(UO2)2(PO4)2·10(H2O).
Identifié pour la première fois en 1932 à Shinkolobwe, dans la province du Katanga (République démocratique du Congo), ce minéral doit son nom au minéralogiste belge Achille Salée, qui enseigna à l'Université catholique de Louvain. Des analyses ultérieures ont révélé que le minéral du Katanga est en réalité de la méta-saléeite, de formule Mg(UO₂)₂(PO₄)₂·8(H₂O), et son gisement type a été désigné comme étant la mine Weißer Hirsch à Neustädtel, située dans le district de Schneeberg, au sein des monts Métallifères de Saxe (Allemagne).

For all items reported as damaged or broken, we do require the item to be returned to us before a refund can be processed.
Return shipping costs are initially the responsibility of the customer. However, if your claim is approved after review, we will reimburse your reasonable return postage costs.
