Carrollite, with the chemical formula CuCo2S4, is a copper and cobalt sulfide that frequently exhibits significant nickel substitution for the metal ions. It belongs to the linnaeite group and is named after its type locality in Carroll County, Maryland, specifically at the Patapsco mine in Sykesville. This specimen is from the former Congo (approx 1982).
