Erythrite, commonly referred to as red cobalt, is a secondary mineral composed of hydrated cobalt arsenate, represented by the formula Co3(AsO4)2•8H2O. It forms a complete series with annabergite, which has the chemical formula Ni3(AsO4)2•8H2O, or nickel arsenate, following the general formula (Co,Ni)3(AsO4)2•8H2O.
The crystals on this specimen have some damage as they are very fragile. On the other hand, it is rich on this mineral.
