$467.50 AUD
A very rare and older specimen from the Lengenbach Quarry.
Smithite is a sulfosalt mineral characterized by the chemical formula AgAsS2. It was first identified by mineralogist R H Solly in 1905 from specimens collected at the Lengenbach quarry near Binn, Switzerland. The mineral is named in honor of Herbert Smith, who served as an assistant in the mineralogy department of the British Museum (Natural History). Notably, smithite is a dimorph of trechmannite.
