Coronadite serves as the primary endmember of the coronadite group, which consists of tectomanganates characterized by a 2 × 2 tunnel structure. This mineral is named in honor of Francisco Vasquez de Coronado, an explorer of the southwestern United States. The name was coined by Waldemar Lindgren in 1905.[2] Chemically, it is associated with ferricoronadite, an Fe+3 analogue, along with cryptomelane, hollandite, manjiroite, and strontiomelane.
Smithsonite, or zinc spar, is the mineral variant of zinc carbonate (ZnCO3). Initially, it was confused with hemimorphite until it was established that they are distinct minerals. Their similar appearances led to the use of the term calamine for both, causing some misunderstanding. The name smithsonite was given in 1832 by François Sulpice Beudant to honor the English scientist James Smithson, who first described the mineral in 1802.
This trigonal mineral exhibits a range of colors and is rarely found in well-formed crystals, typically appearing as earthy botryoidal masses. It has a Mohs hardness of 4.5 and a specific gravity ranging from 4.4 to 4.5.

For all items reported as damaged or broken, we do require the item to be returned to us before a refund can be processed.
Return shipping costs are initially the responsibility of the customer. However, if your claim is approved after review, we will reimburse your reasonable return postage costs.
