Sugilite, a relatively scarce mineral ranging in color from pink to purple, is a cyclosilicate with the complex chemical composition of KNa2(Fe, Mn, Al)2Li3Si12O30. It forms in the hexagonal system, typically as prismatic crystals, though they are seldom found and more commonly seen in a massive form. Sugilite has a Mohs hardness rating of 5.5 to 6.5 and a specific gravity between 2.75 and 2.80.

Due to light sources used during photography the specimen is more pink than in reality.
