HALIDES

Halide minerals are naturally occurring inorganic compounds that come from halogen acids. They’re made up of halogen elements like chlorine, fluorine, bromine, or iodine mixed with metals. Notable examples of halide minerals are fluorite, which is the main source of hydrogen fluoride, halite, known for being the primary source of sodium chloride, and bischofite, which is mainly a source of magnesium.
