Apatit bezeichnet eine Gruppe von Phosphatmineralien, zu denen hauptsächlich Hydroxylapatit, Fluorapatit und Chlorapatit gehören. Diese sind durch signifikante Mengen an OH−, F− und Cl− Ionen in ihren Kristallstrukturen gekennzeichnet. Die kombinierte Formel für diese drei häufig vorkommenden Endglieder wird als Ca10(PO4)6(OH,F,Cl)2 dargestellt, während die individuellen Elementarzellenformeln der Minerale Ca10(PO4)6(OH)2 für Hydroxylapatit, Ca10(PO4)6F2 für Fluorapatit und Ca10(PO4)6Cl2 für Chlorapatit sind.
Der Begriff „Apatit“ wurde 1786 vom deutschen Geologen Abraham Gottlob Werner eingeführt, obwohl das von ihm identifizierte spezifische Mineral 1860 vom Mineralogen Karl Friedrich August Rammelsberg später als Fluorapatit reklassifiziert wurde. Apatit wird häufig mit anderen Mineralien verwechselt, ein Phänomen, das sich in seinem Namen widerspiegelt, der vom griechischen Wort ἀπατάω (apatáō) stammt, was „täuschen“ bedeutet.

If your item arrives damaged, we kindly ask that you provide a short, continuous video showing the specimen from at least six angles. You can simply hold it in your hands and gently rotate it while filming. Please also include a clear view of the package label in the video so we can assist you as quickly as possible.
For all items reported as damaged or broken, we do require the item to be returned to us before a refund can be processed.
Return shipping costs are initially the responsibility of the customer. However, if your claim is approved after review, we will reimburse your reasonable return postage costs.
