Cavansit, charakterisiert durch seine chemische Formel von Calcium-Vanadium-Silikat, ist ein auffallend tiefblaues wasserhaltiges Mineral, das zur Phyllosilikatgruppe gehört. Dieses sekundäre Mineral wird typischerweise in basaltischen und andesitischen Gesteinsformationen neben verschiedenen Zeolithmineralien gefunden, wobei seine ausgeprägte blaue Farbe der Anwesenheit von Vanadiumionen zugeschrieben wird. Erst 1967 in Malheur County, Oregon, identifiziert, gilt Cavansit als relativ selten und zeigt Polymorphie mit dem noch selteneren Pentagonit. Das Mineral kommt überwiegend in Pune, Indien, und innerhalb der ausgedehnten magmatischen Provinz Deccan Traps vor.

Stilbit bezeichnet eine Gruppe von Tektosilikatmineralen innerhalb der Zeolithfamilie. Ursprünglich bis 1997 als eigenständige Mineralart klassifiziert, wurde es von der International Mineralogical Association neu definiert, um eine Reihe zu umfassen, die die spezifischen Typen Stilbit-Ca und Stilbit-Na einschließt. Stilbit-Ca, die häufigere Variante, ist ein wasserhaltiges Silikat aus Calcium, Natrium und Aluminium, dargestellt durch die Formel NaCa4(Si27Al9)O72·28(H2O). Im Gegensatz dazu weist Stilbit-Na einen höheren Natriumgehalt im Vergleich zu Calcium auf. Diese beiden Arten erscheinen dem bloßen Auge identisch, und der Begriff Stilbit wird weiterhin in Kontexten verwendet, in denen keine detaillierten Tests durchgeführt wurden.
