Chrysokoll ist ein wasserhaltiges Kupfer-Phyllosilikat-Mineral und Mineraloid, das durch die Formel Cu2 – xAlx(H2Si2O5)(OH)4⋅nH2O (wobei x < 1) oder (Cu, Al)2H2Si2O5(OH)4⋅nH2O gekennzeichnet ist. Seine strukturelle Zusammensetzung wurde diskutiert, wobei eine spektrographische Analyse aus dem Jahr 2006 darauf hindeutete, dass das, was üblicherweise als Chrysokoll identifiziert wird, tatsächlich eine Mischung aus dem Kupferhydroxid Spertiniit und Chalzedon sein könnte. Typischerweise bildet sich Chrysokoll in einem amorphen Zustand.
Der Begriff Chrysokoll leitet sich von den altgriechischen Wörtern für „Gold“ und „Leim“ ab, was seine historische Verwendung beim Goldschmieden widerspiegelt, die erstmals von Theophrastus im Jahr 315 v. Chr. dokumentiert wurde. Dieses Mineral weist eine zyanblaue Farbe auf und dient als geringfügiges Kupfererz mit einer Härte von 2,5 bis 7,0. Chrysokoll entsteht durch sekundäre Prozesse in den Oxidationszonen von Kupferlagerstätten und wird oft zusammen mit Mineralien wie Quarz, Limonit, Azurit, Malachit und Cuprit gefunden. Es tritt normalerweise in botryoidalen oder abgerundeten Formen sowie in Krusten oder Gesteinsspalten auf.

For all items reported as damaged or broken, we do require the item to be returned to us before a refund can be processed.
Return shipping costs are initially the responsibility of the customer. However, if your claim is approved after review, we will reimburse your reasonable return postage costs.
