Konichalcit, mit der chemischen Formel CaCu(AsO4)(OH), ist ein recht häufig vorkommendes Arsenatmineral, das eng mit Duftit (PbCu(AsO4)(OH)) verwandt ist. Gekennzeichnet durch sein grünes, oft traubenförmiges Aussehen, bildet es sich typischerweise in den Oxidationszonen verschiedener Metalllagerstätten. Dieses Mineral wird häufig zusammen mit Limonit, Malachit, Beudantit, Adamit, Cuproadamit, Olivenit und Smithsonit gefunden.
In den Oxidationszonen von Kupfererzkörpern entsteht Konichalcit, wenn sauerstoffreiches Grundwasser mit Kupfersulfid und Kupferoxid reagiert, was zur Bildung von Mineralien wie Malachit, Azurit und Linarit führt. Er wird häufig als Kruste auf limonitischen Gesteinen beobachtet, die gelbe bis rote Farbtöne aufweisen. Zusätzlich ist Konichalcit Teil einer Mischkristallreihe mit Calciovolborthit, wobei Arsen und Vanadium die beiden austauschbaren Elemente sind. In dieser Reihe stellt Konichalcit das arsenreiche Endglied dar, während Calciovolborthit das vanadiumreiche Gegenstück ist.

Return shipping costs are initially the responsibility of the customer. However, if your claim is approved after review, we will reimburse your reasonable return postage costs.
