La volborthite (minéral vert) est un minéral extrêmement rare composé de cuivre et de vanadium, représenté par la formule chimique Cu3V2O7(OH)2·2H2O. Découvert en 1838 dans l'Oural, il fut initialement nommé knaufite, mais fut plus tard rebaptisé en l'honneur du paléontologue russe Alexander von Volborth (1800-1876).
La volborthite est un minéral d'oxydation extrêmement rare que l'on trouve dans les minerais de cuivre hydrothermaux riches en vanadium, souvent associé à des minéraux tels que la brochantite, la malachite, l'atacamite, la tangéite, la chrysocolle, la barytine et le gypse.
La tangéite, également connue sous le nom de calciovolborthite, a pour formule CaCuVO4(OH) et est étroitement apparentée à la volborthite. Ce minéral a été identifié pour la première fois en 1837 à la mine de Sofronovskii, située dans le complexe minier de Yugovskii Zavod, dans la région de Perm, dans l'Oural moyen (Russie).

For all items reported as damaged or broken, we do require the item to be returned to us before a refund can be processed.
Return shipping costs are initially the responsibility of the customer. However, if your claim is approved after review, we will reimburse your reasonable return postage costs.
