Boltwoodite is a hydrated ura silicate mineral represented by the formula (K0.56Na0.42)[(UO2)(SiO3OH)]·1.5(H2O). It differs in crystal structure from sodium boltwoodite, exhibiting an orthorhombic structure as opposed to a monoclinic one. This mineral forms through the oxidation and alteration of primary ura ores and typically appears as a yellowish crust on certain ura-bearing sandstones, characterized by a silky or vitreous luster.
