CUPROSKLODOWSKITE (thumbnail)
$280.50 AUD
Cuprosklodowskite is a secondary mineral that forms through the alteration of pre-existing mineral. This nesosilicate mineral exhibits a striking color range from grass green to dark green and typically crystallizes in acicular, flat-bladed forms. Discovered in 1933 at the Kalongwe deposit in what was then the Katanga province of the Belgian Congo, cuprosklodowskite was named under the misconception that it was a copper counterpart to sklodowskite, which honors the renowned scientist Marie Skłodowska Curie.
