Cuprosklodowskite is a secondary mineral of uranium that forms through the alteration of pre-existing uranium minerals, with the empirical formula Cu(UO2)2(HSiO4)2·6(H2O). This nesosilicate mineral exhibits a striking color range from grass green to dark green and typically crystallizes in acicular, flat-bladed forms. Notably, it is a highly radioactive mineral. Discovered in 1933 at the Kalongwe deposit in what was then the Katanga province of the Belgian Congo, cuprosklodowskite was named under the misconception that it was a copper counterpart to sklodowskite, which honors the renowned scientist Marie Skłodowska Curie.
