Vanadinite is a phosphate mineral classified within the apatite group, characterized by the chemical formula Pb5(VO4)3Cl. It serves as a primary industrial source of vanadium and a secondary source of lead. This dense and brittle mineral typically appears as red hexagonal crystals and is relatively rare, originating from the oxidation of lead ore deposits like galena. Initially identified in Mexico in 1801, vanadinite has since been located in various regions, including South America, Europe, Africa, and North America. This specimen comes from a less know locality: Perm Oblast, Russia and therefore rare.

Baryte, also known as barite or barytes, is a mineral composed of barium sulfate (BaSO4). Typically appearing white or colorless, barite serves as the primary source of barium. The baryte group includes barite, celestine (strontium sulfate), anglesite (lead sulfate), and anhydrite (calcium sulfate), with barite and celestine forming a solid solution represented as (Ba,Sr)SO4.
